This Sunday (05) sunny San Diego received the game between the Jets and the Chargers, valid for the fifth week of the NFL regular season. The fans went home happy life, after watching the ride provided by QB Philip Rivers and company up the listless New York Jets. With the score 31-0, the Bolts win their fourth straight victory and lead the AFC West.
The Jets have one of the best defenses against the run game in the NFL, the Chargers have one of the worst ground attacks in the league, due to several injuries in his group of runners. Even so, the ground attack of San Diego won 162 yards and was extremely helpful for success against the New York Jets. The attack of the Jets reached the attacking midfield only twice in the last two minutes of play, when the game was already decided. After the match, coach Rex Ryan called all responsibility for the defeat itself.
As throughout the duel, the first time the game was complete domination of the Chargers. Were recorded three touchdowns, two on receptions airline TE Antonio Gates and running of freshman RB Branden Oliver. Rivers to throw an INT came in the second quarter, but on the next play RB Chris Johnson suffered fumble, making the ball back to San Diego.
In the second half, the Jets came back with QB Michael Vick, who obviously has not changed the course of the tune. Worse, suffered two sacks and had no chance against the Chargers defense. The Rivers TD to Oliver and then the FG K Nick Novak early in the final quarter, were the finishing moves to end any chance of reversing New York.
Mike McCoy is leading the Chargers to the brink of perfection, in a pragmatic way. The team’s next game is on Sunday in Oakland against the Raiders. The Jets, after all the changes for the 2014 season, look the same as last year. Next Sunday, will make a home match, but against the Broncos. It seems very end of the season for the lantern AFC East.
